Where do these prices come from?

Minutes to where, exactly?
To the nearest gate of the main campus on El Gomhoria St, at 8 AM. Walking follows real OpenStreetMap routes at 4.8 km/h; microbus is an estimate that swings with traffic. If you study Tourism and Hotels, the faculty is on El Thanawiya St off El Galaa St, so El Galaa St is the closest area.
When should I start looking?
Right after the admission results (tansik) in August and September, or after your acceptance letter if you are coming from outside Egypt. Places near the gate go first, so start early, and see a place before you pay anything.
What about the university dorms?
If you qualify (rules differ for students from abroad), they’re usually the cheapest option. But places are limited and applications have deadlines, so apply early and keep a plan B.
